Today in class we reviews for the exam tommarow. The only part I think am going to have trouble with is the countries and the leaders because there is a lot of countries and information on them. All I have to do is study them and I think I will be fine on the exam. Also today was a shortened class due to the concert.

Today in class we took a quiz. It was short but it was pretty hard. I didn't do the best. I thought I would do better than I did. But on Friday we are going to have a Christmas party. I think that's awesome because you can bring food from the country you had for the project. And that was class today

Today in class we went over what was going to be the quiz Wednesday. He said most opt the stuff on the power point we have been working on in class. I think I am going to do pretty well hopefully because this is a section that I find pretty interesting. The part I might have trouble on is the part about the religions because there is a lot of information inn them.

In class today we took lots of notes on religion. We learned about religions that I never existed such as a pastafarien. Mr Schick told us that a pastafarien is a religion that is not really a religion there are there to say what they want to say and do. Also we learned that there will be more Islam than Christians.

Today in class we had a fire drill today. We had it path the very begging of the class so it did not take up much time in class. When we got back into the building Mr Schick  showed us a song he and daughter made. The song was about the movie Slumdog millionaire. It was a very good song. After that we took more notes on cultural geography. That was what class was consisted of.

Today on class we went a little deeper into cultural geography. It seemed interesting I also find it cool that English is possibly the most commonly used language. And that other parts of countries speak one language but another part speaks another. That is only an little part of what I learned while taking notes.

today in class today we watched some of a movie called Slumdog millionaire. I found the part we watched was very interesting because it showed how the man lived in his country. Every one was very poor. They lived in very small areas which consisted of a small kitchen and a small sleeping place. the people there all played with the police. because they hated them the police were corrupt
they liked to play where they couldent and when the police came they would run away. Every one would throw stuff at them then people cams and beat people down that is all we got to todays we get to watch m ore tomorrow.

Today in class we started a new unit it is called cultural geography. This chapter seemed pretty interesting. I think it is going to be interesting to learn about different countries culture. For me I know some of Russians culture because I am originally from there. So its going to be cool learning about other  countries.

Today in class we took a test. I thought it was pretty easy because most of it was multiple-choice. The only part I probably had trouble was the part where you had to match the leader with the country. The essay I think was one of the easiest parts of the test.

Today out test got pushed back to tomorrow. I was so happy because I can review some more and really get the material down. I am hoping that I get a good grade on this test because I would start this quarter off with a good start. thank you Mr. shick for revising the study guide that is going to help a lot .

Today in class we really did not do much. We talked about he 45 kids who were killed by the drug cartel. I thought that was terrible how the mayors wife sent them to do that. Mexico city has to be pretty messed up to let that happy and just weight for it to flow over like nothing happened.

Today in class we got back the tests we took last Friday. I did ok I didn't do as good as I did the first text we took at the begging of the year. I still did good  I got an 81% . The part that messed me up was the part about the population pyramids. I think that part messed up a couple people. Every thing else on the test was pretty easy. I reviews well and it paid of.

Today we took a test. It was a pretty easy but some parts were hard. The fact book part was the most stress full part because we were timed. I finished but the one question I had trouble on was the 0one about the oil barrels. The other part that confused me a little were the population pyramids but any thing else that I did was not to bad. I think all of the reviewing helped a lot. Thanks Mr Schick for the review

Today in class we revised more for the test tomorrow. I think the hardest part of the test is going to be the fact book part. I think this because we only have a limited time to look on the website an find the answers to the twelve questions . The other part that might be a little hard is going to be identifying the population pyramids because you can't use the fact book to help you figure out which one is which. I think the stuff we revised today and yesterday is going to help make a huge amount on the test tomorrow. I am happy because the test is the first class of the days so I can get it over with and not have to stress about it all day.

At the beginning of class Mr. Schick had  to go watch another class for a minute. We had to look at the world fact book for population pyramids. When he came back he told us that Spotify is trying to do stuff with music that will help with school. I find that very cool. The best part is we get to help with is because we have to report how we think the Spotify works with the new stuff I think they arte going to put into it. In doing this the class gets a  free three months of Spotify prime for free.  That is so cool thank you Mr. Schick for doing tis for the class.

Today Mr. Schick was out today. He was in Maine for a wedding. He made us watch this video the posted on his blog. It was about population pyramids. I found the video very confusing. We have to answer these three questions.

Today in class the people who were on retreat yesterday were back today and they got6 there tests.
Some of them got A's on there tests. Some one in my class had a shadow. He seemed like a pretty cool kid. So today we talked more about total fertility rate and migration and immigration. We looked at the power point then Mr Schick would turn it off and ask us questions about he slide we ere on I think that would be a good way to study with the whole class. I think I know the migrating part pretty well because I have had a little of that in middle school. But My favorite part of the day was when he picked up some ones shoe and tossed it across the room. I wonder what the shadow was thinking. That is what happened in class today.

Today in class we finally got our tests back. I was so happy that we were finally getting them back.
Mr. Schick lilies to announce the grades but if you got a bad grade you don't want to make the person felt bad. So he rings a bell if you bot an a on the test. There were a lot of people missing in class today because of the freshman retreat I do mine  on October 1st. We also went over the test I Dian not have to correct much but there were some things and.  In class. We talked about push and pull forces. The push forces are bad things that happen in a country such as war, sickness, catastrophe and even just a bad ruler. Personally the US has a couple of push forces I think such as the unemployment. Pull forces are the things that drag people,e to a country such as better heath care, political freedom and better economic opportunity. That's why many  of people are going to Canada. Today in class's we took a test. I feel like I did pretty well. There were only a couple question I was confused about. The one about which percent of the united states voted in 2012 was the hardest one for me.The essays I thought were pretty easy the one on the quote took me the longest because I had to thing of what the quote mint to me. I think the teacher did very well on making the test because I liked the lay out of the all the questions. I did not like that we did not have a lot of time to finish the quiz. The teacher let us use our blogs on the test so I think that helped me a little just on the vocab. I thought I knew every thing else pretty wheel so I hope I did go on the test .

Today in class we talked about globalization. Globalization is the connection of different of the world results in international ,culture ,economical and political activities. Globalization has been around for hundreds of years. For example the silk road. The silk road  is a series of trade and cultural transmission routes that were central to cultural interaction through regions of the Asian continent connecting the West and East by linking traders, merchants, pilgrims, monks, soldiers, nomads, and urban dwellers from China to the Mediterranean Sea  during various periods of time. Another  example is the big shipping crates that go to countries all around the world. They carry food , cars ,clothes and other different items from around the world. The stuff we Americans do is affecting japans history. It does this bye our fast food restaurants and the style we live. It also affects family bonding. Globalization is a good thing because we cans learn about other countries style of food, clothes, houses, etc.. I think globalization is a very good thing it helps most of the world.

Today was 9/11. Today was a terrible day in history. Many people lost there lives today. So during class today we talked about the video we watched in class. We talked about how long  the radio took to reach 50million people using it took 38 year. Compared to the internet the internet took only 4 years to reach that amount of people. We also talked about the advances in technology. Back then people had rack and rack of records but know all we have to do is go on to iTunes and download a song. Cellphones came a huge way. The old phones were hugest you had to wear them on your belt. Now the cellphone is so small. Now apple came out with an apple watch and that surprised be a whole lot. It surprised me because with it you can pay bye just scanning it. That why I think I am growing up in a very unique period of time

I was very surprised by most of the facts on the video. I thought the fact that china will be the number one English speaking in a couple of years. I also found it weird that India has more honor students than we have in the U.S. I also thinks it is cool that we are getting prepaid for jobs that aren't even jobs yet.We Will also have 10 to 14 job offerings by the age of 38. That is pretty cool because like right now some people only work at one place until they retire. 1 and 8 couples met on line so that shows what social networking has done. Social networking has come a long way for example faced book now has 845 million users monthly. But social networking is also hurting the society.  Anyone can say anything over texts but can you really say it to there face. It hurts our social networking skills. People text so much there are more texts sent than people living on this planet. Over all I found the video one of the coolest and interesting videos I have ever seen I hope that we can see more of them in the future.

Today in class we got assigned seats. Most of the class did not like the start they were in. So w ended up taking a vote like they did back then in the agora of Greece. Some of the students got up to the podium and stated why we should be able to sit where ever we want. Then we had  the other student go nip and state why we should not change seats. Then we voted by showing hands I wish we got pens and pencils and put the pen in a bucket to show you wanted to chance seats. We got enough votes to be able to change seats. Today in class Mr. Schick showed us is ice bucket challenge. He ended up nominating the whole class.I don't know yet if I will do it yet. Also people still had to catch up on there blogs. The good thing is that I am all caught up with all of my blogs. We also talked about a story called a message to Garcia. It was written in 1899. There was actually a war going on. It was the Spanish America war.The story was based on a man who had to get a message from the president to Garcia. It showed how people would try to put it of like we do some times. For example if we had to do chores we would say can we do it later or can my brother or sister do it . I am going to try to Be the Rown in the story he was the one who took the message from the president and jut did it. I want to be able to just do it not complain about it.

          Today in class everybody had to show the teacher their blog from last night. I ended up having to resend  the teacher another URL. Some of the people in the class had to leave early to go to a cross country meet. The teacher told us that we will be starting the unit tomorrow. I am happy for that because previously in middle school I have loved social studies. In think Human Geography will be my favorite class this year

3. Be friendly. So if you have a lot of friends you CNS study with them and they can help you with any thing you need.
4. Do the homework. Doing the home work is a big part because home work because home work is a big part of your grade
5. Good notes. Taking good notes so you can study from your tests

My first day of school was pretty good. I have liked all of my classes. The teachers all seemed nice but some were strict. I think I work better with strict teachers anyway because they keep me in line and doing what I'm supposed to be doing. The teachers say they will always help students who ask for help and I think that is good. Everyone is friendly and accepting of the person you are. It's going to take me time to get used to going to my locker to get my books. I also need to get used to my locker combination. It has been a challenge so far to always unlock the locker in the time I have. I like the fact that I can use my computer to take notes instead of writing in a notebook. It seems more organized on the computer. My experience so far has been good and I look forward to the upcoming year.
